Carina Dayondon: The First Filipina Who Completed the World's Seven Summit

On December 16, 2018, Carina Dayondon had a successful ascent to Vinson Massif, Antarctica, and became the first Filipina to complete the World's Seven Summits.

Vinson Massif, which rose 16,050 feet (4,892 meters) above sea level, was the tallest peak on the Antarctic continent and became Dayondon's last stop in completing the most challenging feat of a mountaineer.

She was also one of the first women to climb Mt. Everest via traverse hike -  they climb across one route and came down by another. Along with her team, they started ascent on Tibet, China and descended through Nepal.

Below is the timeline for Dayondon's journey to world's seven summit:

2006 – Denali (6190m), North America
2007 – Everest (8850m), Asia
2013 – Elbrus (5642m), Europe
2014 – Mount Kosciuszko (2,228 meters), Australia
2015 – Mt Kilimanjaro (5895m), Africa
2018 – Mt. Aconcagua (6962m), South America
