FASHIONS IN THE COURSE OF COVID-19

During pandemic there were many trends involved, mask wearing in Asian countries face mask are an accepted part of everyday life, which might be one reason death rates from the coronavirus there are relatively low. It's common in those nations to wear face masks to control respiratory droplets especially during cold, flu and hay fever seasons. In Japan face mask are nearly universal in public areas, despite not being mandated. When rules that mask wearing are eventually lifted, it's possible the habit may become permanent, at least when people are Indoors in crowded spaces like bars, restaurants and arenas, our personal approach to wellness this pandemic has inspired many people to take a more active role in their health.

Telehealth, this is the urgent need to practice social distancing combined with fear of seeking medical care has sped up the adoption of telehealth by many patients and practitioners. Home fitness was popular also, the closing if gyms and fitness clubs have driven sales of home workout programs and exercise equipment. Working from home with the working from home trend, companies save money on office, space and employees who can do it save on commuting time and costs. Another fashion is retreat from  supermarkets and increased hotel hygiene to ensure their customers health and safety.

Life during Pandemic

Through certain life we’ve encounter biggest problem in the world and that is Covid 19 Pandemic . It was the time were everyone is affected, didn't know what to do but only to stay at home. Those in life who are especially at risk have been practicing Social Distancing and Staying in their home , as everyone should continue to do.

Pandemic is such a realization to
everyone because we've encountered crisis and everyone learned how to be contented on what we have . The Pandemic helps everyone on how to expand their mind in having a plan to help their family by earning money . In such thing online selling is one of the best trend in this time of pandemic . Many life have changed because of online selling . And there a lot of online seller find their ways on what they should sell such as food , clothes , ukay2x , make-up products , shoes and etc. And this are the thing that sells better in this time of pandemic. Many negative happened in Covid 19 were people are wanted to giving up on their lives, but they are strong enough to open their mind by making things such as online selling to explore and focus their mind not just in this pandemic.

What were your favorite trends during COVID time?

No one really wished for covid... but surprisingly, so many unexpected trends aroused ever since it started. One of which are the so called "PLANTITAS" these are women who considered themselves plant enthusiasts. Due to the limited activities people can do during pandemic and going out is no longer fun rather dangerous because one can be easily infected by the virus and can put the whole family at risk including children and senior citizens. People had no choice but to stay at home. There is no other way for our mothers and aunties to spend their homestay but to spof them would impulend it with their BELOVED PLANTS. As a matter of fact, it came to a point where some sively spend thousands and thousands of pesos just to have the rarest specie of a certain plant. I even once came across a post on facebook talking about a famous celebrity buying a plant all the way from Mindanao which cost 100,000 PESOS! I was like "OMG!!! WHO WOULD SPEND THAT MUCH MONEY FOR A PLANT?"

If women became plantitas during pandemic, men on the other hand became fond of raising roosters which is not very surprising knowing their nature LOL!!! This trend is not new at all but during pandemic men's love for roosters went to a whole new level!!!

Battling Covid had an impact in people's daily lives. The lockdown has a significant negative impact on mental health, resulting in frustration, stress, and sadness. But, people find comfort and create better ways to escape from pandemic reality.

During the first months of lockdown in the Philippines, the Dalgona Coffee has been a representative in quarantine food trends. It appeals to us to make it once or twice since there's something wonderful about watching the sugar-coffee mixture whisk up into a foam with just a little muscle work. Posting your version on social media feels like a bit of a triumph.

Due to lockdowns, people tend to binge-watch on Netflix. This is their way to escape from stress and became a television therapy to some people. A lot of shows on Netflix made a trend like The Queen's Gambit, Money Heist, Emily in Paris and many more.

That year was challenging, and for many of us, it was one of the most difficult we've ever experience but the distraction of entertainment has surely helped people get through it.

The Life Beneath the Vogue

Filipinos always have a way to find fun even with the advent of total lockdowns and quarantine periods due to the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. Even with the deprivation of physical interaction and subjection in isolation, we created a way to connect with others through trends.

A trend simply indicates what seems to be going around at any given time. Trends form from something as mundane as doing simple tasks like doing videos, following the newest fashion icons, entertainment, etc. It can happen and can go viral on any day, in any month, and any year. These are what kept us entertained during the lockdowns and quarantine periods. We love to follow on what's new and what’s the “click” for other people. The following are top trends that rose in fame during the Covid-19 pandemic:

1) Social media are what kept us busy for a long time. Tiktok gained popularity among teenagers wherein they can create, share and discover short videos. It is an app where you can do a silly dance, a heartfelt singing performance, an acting skit, and a lot more others. What made it fun is that you can post your video and share it with others.

2) Digital games helped us get through the pandemic. Not only that it was what kept us distracted from our boring pandemic routine, but it also garnered significance to the community. Axie Infinity, a game developed by Sky Mavis in 2018, aided in terms of financial aspects. The reward earned is called "Smooth Love Potion" which is a non-fungible token kind of cryptocurrency that is exchanged for real money. With the help of Axie Infinity, Filipino users heaved a sigh of relief as their financial struggles during the pandemic were eased a bit.

3) Foods comforted our loneliness and our stomach every day. Many opened online food businesses because it is what trended in the middle of the pandemic. The people couldn't get out of their house to go to restaurants so the restaurants go to them. Foods from Korean dramas like samgyeopsal, tteoboki, kimchi fried rice gave the Filipino community an idea of what to sell on their menu.

4) Who would forget the fashion trends? Due to the loss of jobs in the pandemic, many resorted to selling clothes online and this became a global trend. Floral maxi dresses and ditsy dresses trended for months. Branded tops like Zara, Forever 21, and Shein were the most-bought brands during the pandemic. The aesthetic that it offers is a perfect fashion sense for the Filipino community.

These are just a few examples of what trended during the pandemic. It is okay to follow these trends for the sake of entertainment and pleasure but there were always limitations in everything we do. Social media can make us do the things we avoid trying to get the attention of other users. Digital games affect our time management and the excessive use of smartphones can damage our eyes and can alter our sleeping routine. Following food trends are also not good for our health. Eating too much can lead you to obesity or become overweight. Buying from online shops can be costly and can ruin our financial plans.

Trends are entertaining. It is fun and good in a way that it helps us forget our pandemic problems for a while. It is alright to do these trends but we should always remember that there are also downsides to following what is popular in social media. We should never be fooled by these socially-made events but it's your call. Would you follow the trends or just be a lowkey classic type of person?
